Russ Bond,
General Manager - Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club

Spending most of the early years of his life in West Virginia, Bond grew up in the hospitality industry, witnessing and eventually working for his father who was also a hotel manager. He then continued to work in various hotels and resorts throughout high school, and attended Purdue University for Restaurant and Hotel Management. After that, he accepted a Management Training Position at Stouffer Hotels, and established a career in General Management at a few different hotels and resorts around the country, including the Marriott’s Renaissance Hotel in White Plains, New York. It was at that time he accepted the General Manager position at the Vinoy – relocating to St Petersburg in February 2000.

Since then, the luxury resort, known for its exquisite scenery, outstanding service, and rich history, has witnessed quite an evolution in the Downtown area. All the while the Vinoy has consistently provided guests with luxurious amenities designed to pamper and restore, and is almost constantly undergoing updates and renovations to better accomplish this end.

As an integral part of the resort, Bond has a deep respect for the historic building and feels a sense of responsibility for preserving its importance in continuing to improve the Downtown St Petersburg experience.
